Visit the Web Site of si971

This site is wholly funded by the OILC and has been created as a tool for offshore safety representatives. This site provides a directory of all the relevant offshore health and safety regulations and much more. This is an invaluable site for the 'isolated rep' looking for a guiding hand.

It is maintained by OILC's training officer and provides information and guidance on health and safety matters only. No opinion, no 'spin', just the facts. The ultimate resource for the offshore safety representative.

Fax Your MP

Yes that's right, hit this sight, insert your postcode and send a message directly to your MP. What about? That's for you to decide, but this is a useful link when we need you to do some serious lobbying. Will the working time regulations be applied offshore? Will the average offshore worker gain the same rights as his onshore counterpart, and in particular the right to four weeks paid leave? Why don't you ask your MP. Why don't you tell your MP what you want. Onshore workers have enjoyed the right to four weeks paid leave for over 2 years now. Let your MP know how you feel about that. You'd better, as apart from OILC, know one else is listening!

Scottish Occupational Health and Safety Research Network

"Health and Safety" as an academic topic tends to fall between a number of stools, with the result that there is no major journal or forum devoted exclusively to the discussion of key research themes. In recent years, health and safety, moreover, has become increasingly marginalized in the political arena, as the movement towards deregulation has gathered pace. Whilst the trade union movement has continued to provide effective training for safety representatives, a forum of debate of safety practitioners and interested academics is lacking. This website includes links to other relevant resources. The network provides a bulletin board for up-to-date information.

The Offshore Network

This is an interesting site for the offshore worker and in particular those employed in the catering industry as it has been compiled by a catering worker.
